Mod Styling

Mod is a subculture that I think fits with the genre of music that I have chosen. Known for its target sybol, green parka, signature mod haircut and scooters. This can also be shown through brands such as Fred Perry and Ben Sherman. Their style has become more popular recently through the artist Jake Bugg who sports a mod hair cut as well as many of the mod brands.

Indie styling 

Indie styling is mainly retro and vintage clothing that also follows with the music that I have chosen. It is generally quite different from what is considered normal clothing.

Magazine Title

I have decided to call my magazine Sterling. Because my magazine is British, I decided to call mine after the Great British Pound, the Pound Sterling. It is also a phrase that is used to describe whether something is great, 'Sterling'.

My genre

The genre of music style that I have chosen to model my magazine on is Indie, such as Indie Folk/Indie Rock. I have chosen this genre of music because it is one of my favorite styles of music. If I choose to design the magazine on a style that I enjoy, then I think that the finished product will be at it's best. The artists of this style that I am familiar with and like are Jake Bugg, the Stone Roses, the Kooks, Oasis and the Shins. As well as Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters and Men, Jose Gonzalez as well as others.
