Modern artists similar to mine

I have decided that my artist will be a Indie Rock/ Folk artist. I have taken my inspiration from numerous cultures and sub-cultures from the 1980's as well as music artists from the 80's however there are modern artists that are similar to mine that also make Indie Rock/Folk music, such as:

Jake Bugg:

Jake Bugg chooses a similar clothing style to the skinhead, he wears Ben Sherman Gingham shirts and Fred Perry Harrington Jackets. Jake Bugg also wears brands such as Gabicci, Farah and Lyle & Scott.

George Ezra:
George Ezra makes music similar to that of Jake Bugg as it is in its own style with a very original sound particularly in his voice.George Ezra follows a similar style to that of the Mod, in particular the green parka as seen below...

Following on from the subculture style, I decided to look at artists similar in style such as Ska. Being a huge fan of Madness myself I have decided to delve further into their looks as well as other bands looks in an attempt to create a look for my artist.

Styles that have inspired me: Skinhead

I have been inspired by the Skinhead style of the 1980's, typical to the This is England look. I decided to go for this style or similar to it as I am a fan of the style and I also think that it is rather understated and most artists like to be rather original. The skinheads wear Ben sherman shirts, polo shirts as well as Levis Jeans, Doc Martens and Crombie Coats

Styles that have inspired me: Mod

Another style that has inspired me in the development of my artist is another sub-culture style group, the Mods
Focused on music and fashion, the subculture has its roots in a small group of London-based stylish young men in the late 1950s

Significant elements of the mod subculture include fashion (often tailor-made suits); music (including soul, ska and R&B); and motor scooters (usually Lambretta or Vespa). The original mod scene was associated with amphetamine-fuelled all-night dancing at clubs.

Brands that have inspired me: Levis Jeans

I have also been inspired to use the brand Levis for my artist in my magazine. I have taken inspiration from the Skinhead styles of the 80's and Levis Jeans were very popular in that style. They are currently a very popular brand among numerous social groups, particularly teens.

Brands that have inspired me: Baracuta Harringtons

I have been inspired by the Baracuta Harrington, as this style is frequently seen throughout the 1980's Skinhead era.

Brands that have inspired me: Ben Sherman

I have also decided to take inspiration from another popular English brand, Ben Sherman. This clothing line is rather popular and was mostly in its prime when worn by the skinheads and MODs of the 1980s

Brands that have inspired me: Fred Perry

I am a big fan of the Fred Perry clothing line so I have decided to go for a similar look to that of the MODs and Skinheads of the 1980s. This would be following a Polo Shirt and Harrington style which has recently become more popular. However I would like to think that my choice is more of an understated fashion choice.
